CENTRAL HOSPITAL FOR VETERINARY MEDICINE
As a small practice, our schedule can fill up quickly. We want to spend the appropriate amount of time with each case to address your concerns and work it up thoroughly, so we can provide the best care for your pet. This sometimes means we may not be able to see every urgent case on a same-day basis.
We understand that you want your pet to be seen as soon as possible in case of illness or injury. If you (or we) feel that your pet needs to be seen on an urgent or emergent basis, or that he/she needs diagnostic services we cannot provide here, we may refer you to Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine.
Central’s team includes a wide array of veterinary specialists, and their facilities include on-site diagnostic capabilities such as radiology (ultrasound, CT scan, and x-ray), a comprehensive in-house laboratory, and they have an ICU for critical cases. They are available 24/7, and have locations in North Haven and Guilford.
EMERGENCY ANIMAL RESPONSE SERVICE (E.A.R.S.)
Volunteer pet ambulance available 24/7 to assist owners and first responders with incidents such as critical patient transport, house fires or accidents, and pet emergencies.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, contactless NFC payments (such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay), and CareCredit. These forms of payment are preferred, however if you need to pay with check or cash, please use exact change, if at all possible, as we do not keep a full cash drawer.
PET INSURANCE
We highly recommend pet insurance, which helps you pay for injuries and illness. Some plans also have preventive care reimbursement. Only you can decide which plan is best for you by comparing plan, and this website may help you decide.
ASPCA ANIMAL POISON CONTROL CENTER
Did your pet eat chocolate, xylitol, or another poisonous substance? Call this hotline to determine the best course of action based on the amount ingested and the size of your pet. A service fee does apply, which is payable by credit card over the phone during your call with them, and they will provide us with a case ID for our reference.
